Wondering Why your Tax Bill is Higher this Summer than Last?

Wondering Why your Tax Bill is Higher this Summer than Last?

The combined total of your summer and winter taxes has not changed beyond the state-allowable inflation rate adjustment, which is capped at 5%.

What has changed is the timing of the school taxes.

Late last fall, the Glen Lake Community School Board decided to collect their operating taxes in the summer rather than winter.  As a result, the North Ed taxes were also moved to summer from winter. This means that going forward your winter taxes will be the lower bill and the summer taxes the higher bill.  The Glen Lake School’s operating and North Ed taxes will not be collected in the winter.
