Celebrate Independence Day in true Glen Arbor fashion as our beloved 4th of July Parade continues—a cherished tradition made possible this year through the collaborative efforts of the Glen Arbor Township and the Glen Lake Chamber of Commerce.
This year, we honor the memory of longtime community pillar Ed Ricker as our Parade Marshall, in memoriam. Ed’s dedication and spirit helped shape the character of this event over the years, and we are proud to carry his legacy forward.
Parade Details:
📍 Route: From Glen Haven to Glen Arbor
⏰ Start Time: 12 Noon on Thursday, July 4
🚗 Line-up: Participants lineup begins at 10:30 AM in Glen Haven; 11:30am streets close to thru traffic downtown Glen Arbor.
All are welcome to join in! Decorate a float, ride a bike, cruise in a vintage car, or simply cheer from the sidewalks as we honor America’s birthday, small-town style. Walkers are kindly asked to join after the final vehicle passes the Christian Science Church via Forest Haven Rd.
New this year: We’re calling on local businesses and community members to help bring the event to life by volunteering before, during, and after the parade. We need:
• Street sweepers (Broom Crew)
• Traffic directors at major intersections
• Cleanup support
👕 Volunteers/staff may receive a Parade T-shirt to wear and return to the Township!
Let’s keep this a safe and joyful tradition for all:
• Keep children out of the street during the parade; collect candy and handouts from the sidewalk/bikelanes.
• Follow the guidance of our friendly Broom Crew
• 🚫 Please, No Water Activities During the Parade – For the safety and comfort of everyone attending, we kindly ask that you do not bring or use water guns, blasters, balloons, bottles, or other water items during the parade. These can cause discomfort or harm to bystanders—especially young children and elder guests. Let’s keep the parade safe, dry, and enjoyable for all!
• Share these safety reminders with your guests
This year, registration is NOT required to participate in the parade.
Want to volunteer ? Call the Glen Arbor Township Office at (231) 334-3539.
Together, let’s keep the spirit of community and country alive—see you on the 4th!
